John D. Gottwald will step down as president and CEO of Tredegar Corp at the end of January. Nancy M. Taylor will take over. Taylor, who went to Holy Cross and law school at Catholic University, is currently a vice president and has been head of a film products division since 2005.
Gottwald joined Tredegar in 1989. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Aluminum, Plastics and Energy at Ethyl. Gottwald, who serves on the board of directors of Albemarle Corporation, attended Washington & Lee University and has an MBA from the University of Richmond.
Kevin White and John Cudzik have left Matrix Capital Markets. Both were hired in 2008. Cudzik, formerly of Ferguson Enterprises, was a director in the building products practice. White was formerly a VP at Circuit City in corporate development
Antoinette Morgan joined the law firm Morris and Morris. Her practice will include retail liability, civil rights disputes and transportation litigation. Morgan is a 2006 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law and Vice-President of the Hill-Tucker Bar Association.
R. Curtis Thompson is now a principal at the accounting firm Yount, Hyde & Barbour. Thompson spent several years serving as the firm’s IT director and internal network administrator. He joined Yount, Hyde & Barbour in 1995 after owning his own business and serving as the GM of a regional oil company. He earned a degree in accounting from Shepherd University.
Robert Byron has joined Smarter Interiors as a project designer. A Syracuse native, Byron graduated from the State University of New York, Potsdam, with a BA in Fine Arts/Design. Byron previously worked for American Furniture and Fixture Company, where he designed and managed a myriad of interior projects for banks and financial institutions throughout the Mid-Atlantic. He also worked at K & B Office Systems in Ashland.
Rhonda Swingle has joined Smarter Interiors as a manager, where she will schedule installations for all Smarter Interiors projects. She previously worked at Open Plan Systems, The Supply Room/Mega and Interwork, where her duties included office manager, warehouse, installation scheduling, purchasing, assisting the sales department and all accounting duties.
Tyler Hoerath has joined Sklar Technology Partners as director of helpdesk services.
Christine Walters has joined Document Termination Company as a sales and marketing representative.
Ellen Barnard Vance has joined Sheltering Arms as vice president and chief human resources officer. Vance previously worked at Titan Group as a consultant. Vance attended Virginia Tech and received degrees in sociology and psychology; she attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee.
