From Obama to Obummer, on a bumper near you

who is barack obama1Not happy with the job President Obama is doing? Neither is Stephen Martin.

Martin, a co-founder of the Martin Agency and owner of the Oaklea Press, has launched a website to sell bumper stickers bearing the slogan “Obummer ’12: Not for President.” The 12 is surrounded by a circle with a red slash through it.

“A friend of mine and I were having lunch a couple weeks ago, and he commented that it is too bad it seems like Obama is going to turn out to be Obummer,” Martin said, “I said ‘Hey, that’s a great line. We ought to do something with that.’”

The bumper stickers sell for $2.95 apiece, or you can buy as many as 100 for $99.95.

obummerMartin, who said he supported John McCain during the 2008 election, plans to promote the venture in a big way: advertising on cable TV. The ads are running this week and will reach a potential audience of 2.1 million national viewers, he said.

The site launched last Friday. By about noon Monday, Martin said he had sold about 50 so far that day. He said he hopes to sell tens of thousands.

Martin said that he doesn’t want Obama to fail but that he wants him to steer the country toward the middle of the political spectrum.

“I’m doing it because we’d like to do what we can to get Obama the message,” Martin said. “That is my motivation more than anything. It would be nice to sell a bunch of bumper stickers, too.”

Conservatives have a really stupid sense of humor.

This is not a partisan observation.

It’s a fact which is proven with their every attempt at humor.

If you want someone to blame, blame the Congress. If every Senator and Representative would put aside his or her own personal agenda for the good of the country and to work with the president, we’d all be better off.

End two wars, turn around the economy after years of greed in which Wall Street was the main culprit, provide healthcare because our country is going bankrupt because of it, replace the country’s failing infrastructure, restore diplomacy to countless countries, I mean, I don’t see why someone wouldn’t be able to do all that in one year. Seems totally reasonable. Moron.

Once again, conservatives demonstrate their inability to think beyond a bumper sticker. If their hypocryte senators would work WITH their President, instead of against him, they might accomplish something. But that would require them to be Americans first and idiologues second – so much for that idea!

This is what happens when you get a couple of extra $$ to your name. Instead of working on something constructive, you, like most teabaggers, seek to destroy, blame and appeal to the lowest common denominator. You know, people that use bumber stickers.

@ Reap Sow

The irony of your screen name and your statement made my day! Using the hidden reference to the “bumper” statements of the previous administration compared to the current one is classic. Well played my friend, well played.

is seem to remember lots of bumper stickers referring to a certain village in Texas missing its idiot. the hypocracy is with the left. how dare a conservative make a disparaging remark against Obambi. if you don’t bow at his feet you must be a racist. please……stop wasting my air!!!!

You’re trying to influence the national conversation with a BUMPER STICKER?

i like the bumper sticker. But I think it is too tame. Not a bummer of an administration he is trying desperately to institute here. It will be a socialist regime. I want no part of it. I think your bumper sticker would be a lot more accurate if it said Obamanation or Obamageadon. The United States, if they remain united, will not even slightly resemble the country I grew up in. (I am 52). I feel so sorry for all those fools who commented. They really believe Obama. It is sad. I don’t understand why they don’t see the… Read more »

There is no one more partisan than Obama. He is a idiologue of the first order and believes his ideas are the only right ones. Look at Iraq which VP Biden says will become one of Obama’s greats accomplishment. Which the Troop Surge help win. Oh Obama was against that, well Ok how about holding unemployment below 8% and lowering health insurance cost. Instead he passes a huge speading bill, instead of lower taxes that history has proven to create jobs. Instead of finding ways of lower health care cost by Tort reform legislation or allowing sale across state lines.… Read more »

Ella is correct.

Not the country I grew up in either. You young folks are going to have to live with the country / world so badly want. So sad. True freedom you will never know.

Glad to be old – I won’t have to.

Don’t despair, James… we’re fixing this problem, one democrat at a time.
We’ll be okay as long as everyone keeps their heads and gets to the polls in November.

“I’m the commander, see. I do not need to explain why I say things. That’s the interesting thing about being the president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don’t feel like I owe anybody an explanation.”

I love comedy, sarcasm word play and get a kick out of PUN Ditz. Get it ? PUN DITZ. Face it bumper stickers are funny. They tickle and can also inflame. 2008 “the end of an error” I saw that one yesterday. Funny. The problem isn’t the tagline or headline or even the ryhme. Far to many people in this country make decisions based on what they hear and can easily repeat. Do us all a favor educate yourself instead of like a fly simply regurgitating what your fed just to lap it up again as sustinance. As for selling… Read more »

Great bumper sticker! I’d rather see something more positive on everyone’s bumper but that probably won’t happen until Barack Hussein Obama is out of office. Given that nearly all the folks I know that professed voting for him now don’t want to talk about it I have hope he’ll be a one-term wonder.

The people lacking a sense of humor are the pseudo-intellectual progressives. Never seen a more bitter group. A simple suggestion: don’t go by what progressives say, watch what they do. The two are seldom the same with the ends-justify-the-means crew. Plenty of bitter stickers on progressive’s cars.

People act as if Obama created this mess. HELLO! Bush was the one in office the previous years remind you and with him we had two recessions including this one! Get a life…

Hmm…Some want to do positive, helpful things. Others like to spread negativity, bad feelings.
But, I’m sure the President will appreciate your reminder. I’m sure it will do your ego a lot of good to see your glorified post-it notes all over town. Don’t be surprised when they invite a big ol’ splash of black paint across them.

“like most teabaggers, seek to destroy…” It strikes me as ironic that this commenter speaks of the destructive tendecies of conservatives, while he/she uses a metaphor for putting someone’s testicles in your mouth to describe the people she disagrees with. The Keith Olberman crowd has been choosing not to acknowledge the absolute decimation and disrespect of the Constitution, the American Life, and American Ideals, in favor of propping up a President who has frankly failed to live up to the messianic expectations of the voters that elected him. “It’s Bush’s fault!”. How long will that excuse ride? Take responsibility for… Read more »

So, dyw, your answer to this bumper sticker is vandalism? And you people wonder why this nation is so polarized? This is a bumper sticker, people. It’s not a cause worth defacing someone’s car. Anyone who sports one is stating his mind, and last time I checked the Constitution, we all have the right to do so. You don’t like the bumper sticker then get your own. You don’t like the bumper sticker, then try to find out why most of America is becoming dissatisfied with Obama. Instead of assaulting someone’s car, try doing something productive. The bumper sticker’s message… Read more »

I cannot believe people cannot see the damage to our country that Obamba has done—-Admitting he & his wife has been at Flag burning events several times—-Will not salute our American Flag—Plans to change our National Anthem & even our Flag—-Hates our country—-Trying to give it to Mexico—-Let them all come in illegally—-also the Muslims—–and take over!!!!! He has got to be impeached now!!!!!!!!

Charlotte, you seem to have the WIN on unsupported, factually wrong and just plain impossible worries but it’s a close contest on this comment thread. 12 months in office and the guy’s wrecked the strongest country on the globe? All the things that you “cannot believe people don’t see” have simply just not happened–they don’t see it because it’s not there and not even scribbled out on the back a napkin somewhere. The troubling thing is, Why create such a fantasy nightmare for yourself? Is it fun? Does it make you feel more special or engaged with life? I ask… Read more »

There are less than 7 months until Election Day when the people will decide who will be the next President of the United States.

The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. It’s that time that we all need to come together, Democrats and Republicans alike.

In a Bi-Partisan effort for America:
If you will support the Republican nominee, please drive with your headlights ON during the day.
If you support Barack Obama, please drive with your headlights OFF at night.
Together, we can make it happen.

Norman Rockwell? When that guy was painting women couldn’t vote, black people had to use separate facilities, and japanese were in internment camps on the west coast. You really think we’re less free now? And George Washington’s faith? He was a deist. The right AND the left have lost their damn minds.
