Robert M. Tyler has joined the litigation section of Spotts Fain. Tyler was previously a partner with McGuireWoods. He is an intellectual property litigator and counselor who has focused his practice largely on trademark, advertising and copyright issues.

William G. Fendley IV has joined Troutman Sanders as a partner in its Richmond office. Fendley had been a partner at McGuireWoods, where he practiced in areas including partnership taxation, taxation of indebtedness, financial instruments, structured products, and innovations in global capital markets.

William M. Ginther will serve as rector of the Virginia Commonwealth University Board of Visitors effective July 1. Ginther, a retired corporate banker, has been on the board since 2010 and also serves on the VCU Health System Authority board of directors. He is a graduate of VCU.

Banking

Carter Leake has joined BB&T Capital Markets | Windsor Group’s senior team for aerospace, defense and government services investment banking. Leake had previously covered the aerospace sector as senior research analyst with BB&T Capital Markets.

Michelle Hastings Simon has been named marketing director for EVB. She graduated from West Virginia University and has 15 years of bank marketing experience, with strengths in strategic marketing planning and creative development for promotion and advertising.

Consulting

The Frontier Project announced the following hires:

Nick Dawson joins Frontier Health Consulting as the patient experience officer. Before coming to Frontier, Dawson worked as a Service Line Administrator at Augusta Health. He graduated from the University of Minnesota.

Lucy Moore has been added as an associate consultant. Moore previously worked as a talent acquisition coordinator at MWV in Richmond. She is a University of Virginia graduate.

Jesica Kim joined Frontier as a graphic designer. Before coming to Frontier, Kim worked as a freelance designer in California. She is a Rhode Island School of Design graduate.

Construction

Phil Gillette has joined C.K. Bosworth Construction as a superintendent. Gillette has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial general contracting industry, including local experience with EDC and Hourigan Construction.

HHHunt announced the following promotions:

David Hubble has been promoted to vice president of finance and accounting with responsibility for HHHunt’s Properties Division. He has been with HHHunt for almost 14 years and is a Virginia Tech graduate.

Steve Brant has been promoted to vice president of finance and accounting with responsibility for HHHunt’s Communities Division and golf courses. He has been with HHHunt for seven years and is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Averett University.

Ann Kelly has been promoted to assistant vice president of finance and accounting with responsibility for HHHunt’s homebuilding operations. She has a total of about eight years with HHHunt over two stints with the company and is a Virginia Tech graduate.

Insurance

Alexander N. Crowe joined TB&R Insurance as vice president in the surety department. Crowe has more than 13 years of surety and construction experience, having been a producer at Lockton Companies in Washington, D.C. and Rutherfoord in Northern Virginia.
