James D. Hester, Richmond’s Assessor of Real Estate, has announced his retirement, effective Oct. 1.

Law

Nicole L. Brenner has joined Reed Smith as an associate in the global regulatory enforcement practice group. She focuses her practice on administrative and regulatory law before all Virginia state agencies, as well as on legislative work before the Virginia legislative and executive branches. She has degrees from Mary Baldwin College and Florida State University.

Nonprofits

Duron Chavis is community engagement coordinator for Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, effective July 12. He is a graduate of Virginia State University.
