Months after inking a new lease, a locally based online fountain pen retailer has begun writing its next chapter in Henrico.

Goulet Pen Co. is in the process of moving its headquarters to North Run Business Park at 1590 E. Parham Road. The family-run business is taking over 24,000 square feet, nearly doubling the size of its current space at 10199 Maple Leaf Court in Ashland.

In a post on the company’s website, co-president Rachel Goulet said the firm will begin moving this week and will be briefly out of operation Wednesday afternoon. It plans to be fully moved in by Aug. 14.

Founded in 2009, the 41-person company is run by Rachel Goulet and her husband Brian. It sells 45 brands of fountain pens, ink, paper and accessories.

The Goulets declined to comment on the move beyond the online post.

“It’s going to be a larger, more functional, and much more intentionally designed space to accommodate the way our team operates and where we plan to expand in the future,” the post says. “We’ve also funded this whole project without debt, as that’s something we feel is important to us.”

The company said the move will end its practice of allowing orders from local customers to be picked up onsite, as it had allowed while based in Ashland.

North Run Business Park was sold in January to Maryland-based Cohen Siegel Investors for $36 million. The acquisition of the five-building, 400,000-square-foot complex was the firm’s first foray into the Richmond market.

CBRE | Richmond brokers represented Goulet and the landlord in the lease. Matt Anderson represented the Goulets, and Joe Marchetti, Rebecca St. John Barricklow and David Wilkins represented the landlord.

Other tenants that have signed into North Run since the sale include: Above the Bar Gymnastics Academy; Coram, a blood transfusion service by CVS; telecommunications equipment retailer Vicom; Williamson’s Drug Co.; and a state government office.
