A local creperie is filling a hole in the Carytown restaurant scene.

Les Crepes is opening a second location at 3325 W. Cary St., adding to its current restaurant at Stony Point Fashion Park, chef and co-owner Fernando Lozada confirmed.

It will take over the 3,500-square-foot space once occupied by C Street Restaurant & Wine Bar, which closed in November.

Les Crepes is scheduled to make its Carytown debut during the first week of September, Lozada said.

“It was an opportunity that we couldn’t pass up,” he said. “Carytown has a lot of restaurants and we can’t wait to add our take to the area.”

With the help of business partner Mauro Pompili, the family-owned eatery first opened in 2014 near the Dick’s Sporting Goods concourse at Stony Point.

True to its name, Les Crepes specializes in sweet and savory crepe dishes, including its signature brownie crepe and crepe cake, as well as seafood and carbonara crepes.

Lozada said he plans to bring the restaurant’s Stony Point menu to Carytown, along with additional offerings.

Les Crepes is developing a drink menu to take advantage of the Carytown space’s bar and patio area, Lozada said. He also wants to introduce live music to the venue. The restaurant can seat about 170 people, he said.

The churn of the Carytown dining market has attracted several new restaurants recently. Down the street, Charlottesville restaurateurs Ravi Dahiya and Rinku Singh are teaming up to open Tulsi Indian Cuisine in the former Spiral Noodle location at 3131-3133 W. Cary St.

The Good Leaf opened last week at 2925 W. Cary St., and Burger Bach is moving and expanding its flagship Carytown location to the former Wells Fargo branch at 3426 W. Cary St.

Sorry to hijack an article about crepes. But please stop using the word “eatery” in headlines! No one ever uses that word in real life!

I for one; welcome this new eatery.

They took over a tough spot in Stony point, so perhaps they can stop the churn at this spot as well.

I’ll definitely give the patio a try, its a great spot to have a drink.
