A Wegmans and Cabela’s-anchored shopping center in western Henrico has hooked a bank tenant.

The downtown-based bank on Friday finalized its deal to be absorbed into Hampton Roads Bankshares, creating a $3 billion institution that will keep its combined headquarters in Richmond.

One of the big players in the Richmond investment banking industry is trimming its downtown headcount.

A local bank that’s soon to relocate its corporate headquarters from river country to Innsbrook is headed further south to expand its branch count, while one of its competitors is looking west.
