Gangadhar Bathula, an inventor/entrepreneur profiled in the Times-Dispatch, is looking for $1 million to $2 million to market his SteriPure water filter.

The pitcher costs around $70 and acts like a Brita with an additional UV light that zaps any microbes.

Bathula said he also needs more funds for working capital.

The product is currently manufactured in India, where it’s also for sale. Bathula said he’s having trouble getting the pitcher into stores stateside. One previous relationship with a North Carolina distributor ended badly, with Bathula losing thousand of dollars in merchandise.
