Inderpreet Singh and Saranjeet Kaur v. William H. Romm, Inc.; William H. Romm, trustee in liquidation for William H. Romm, Inc.; and William H. Romm
Plaintiffs says they entered into a contract with defendant on Feb. 25, 2015, to build a home on a lot to be purchased by defendant in the Grey Oaks subdivision in Henrico County and paid two deposits, while at the same time, defendant entered into a construction credit line promissory note with the Bank of Hampton Roads in which the lot was pledged as collateral. They paid additional monies for change orders, plaintiffs say, but defendant never began construction, and on Nov. 25, 2015, a Henrico official confirmed defendant had not submitted any plans or an application for a building permit. At a meeting on Jan. 8, 2016, plaintiffs say defendant agreed to refund all monies but has failed to do so, and they seek judgment in principal sum of $229,769.25.
