Nonprofits in central Va. are feeling the pinch as giving decreases because people and companies have less expendable income to donate to charity.
The AP is reporting that charitable giving to the Central Virginia United Way has dropped off by about 16 percent. The result will be that United Way has to reduce its donations to other charities by 18.6 percent this year.
