Virginia Community Bank has a new head honcho.
A. Preston Moore Jr. has been appointed president and CEO of the $226 million Louisa-based bank.
Although it’s not a huge player directly in Richmond, Virginia Community Bank controls about $107 million in local deposits, or about 0.19 percent of all deposits in the market, according to the most recent FDIC figures.
The bank has eight branches across central Virginia.
Stone took the helm effective May 17. He takes over for A. Pierce Stone, who had been with the bank since its founding in 1976 and who will remain on as chairman of the board.
Moore, a University of Virginia graduate, has been with the bank since 2008, serving as its chief credit officer.
The bank reported a loss of $87,000 in the first quarter of 2011. It lost $1.4 million in 2010.
