A New Jersey public company has struck a deal to buy Health Risk Partners, a Richmond Medicare compliance firm.
Verisk Analytics will pay $60 million to acquire HRP, according to a release from the companies, although $13 million of that total will be paid in 2012.
HRP, headquartered on Paragon Place just off Glenside Drive, was founded in 1999 by Susan Cimbalo. Cimbalo will stay on and continue to lead HRP once it becomes part of Verisk, according to the release.
Verisk provides services to Medicare and Medicaid health plan providers and said that bringing HRP into its fold would help it expand its presence in the health-care data industry.
The acquisition is subject to certain closing conditions.
