lightbulbpatentFund for hedging real estate ownership risk using financial portfolio theory and data feed for analyzing the financial performance of a portfolio that includes real estate
Patent 7,970,684
A method for creating an investment fund and selling shares in the fund to individual investors, each of whom has an investment ratio defined by a dollar amount of direct real estate investments held by the investor outside of the fund divided by a dollar amount of shares in the fund held by the individual investor. A target range of the investment ratio is selected for the fund. A target geographical region is selected where individual investors in the fund hold the direct real estate investments. A model composite portfolio is identified having an asset combination that includes: (i) direct real estate investment held by an individual investor in the target geographical region, and (ii) shares in the fund held by the individual investor. The asset combination in the model composite portfolio has an investment ratio that is within the target range. An optimal fund asset allocation is selected for the composite model portfolio in order to diversify and/or hedge risks associated with the direct real estate investment held by the model composite portfolio. Shares of the fund are sold to individual investors that hold direct real estate investments in the target geographic region and have investment ratios in the target range.

Health insurance subrogation data management
Patent 7,970,632
A computer-implemented method where a party other than the patient’s health plan, requests patient records from a health provider, thereby triggering the health provider to submit identifying demographic data of the requesting party and additionally, if different, the name of the health provider’s patient for whom the party requested records on, where the submission by the health provider is made to the patient’s health plan, allowing the health plan to gain improved knowledge on the patient’s involvement in an injury claim, thereby improving the health plan’s subrogation operations.

Method of making monofilament fishing lines of high tenacity polyolefin fibers
Patent 7,966,797
A method of making colored monofilament ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin fishing line, comprising the steps of feeding a substantially untwisted multifilament ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin yarn; coating the substantially untwisted multifilament yarn with a colorant; twisting the coated multifilament yarn; and heating the twisted multifilament yarn to a temperature and for a time sufficient to at least partially fuse adjacent filaments together while stretching the yarn. The resultant product is a colored monofilament fishing line that has improved color-fastness and abrasion resistance.

System and method for performing web based in-view monitoring
Patent 7,970,647
Methods and apparatuses for performing dynamic Web-based market analysis are disclosed. A Web server presents a Web page including content to a user, via a browser located at the user’s computer or workstation. The content in the Web page may be provided by third party entities that pay predetermined fees to have the Web server render their content in a Web page. While the user views the site, detailed user activities associated with the content, including in-view activities associated with viewable content in the Web page, are collected in a client side data store. After a trigger event occurs, such as the client side data store fills up, the collected data is sent back to the Web server where its is stored in a server side data store. An analytical program executed by the Web server retrieves the collected response data from the data store and performs market analysis on the collected response data. The analytical program produces results associated with the effectiveness of the content included the Web page. A middleware program, executing in the Web server, retrieves the result data and produces billing records, that may also include content effectiveness reports, and sends the billing records to respective third party entities that supplied the content for billing and marketing purposes.

Systems and methods for retrospective home value scoring
Patent 7,974,854
Systems and methods are provided for providing, based on a model, an indication that an appraisal value for a property is likely to be faulty. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving information representative of at least one of a borrower, a property, or one or more demographics, such that the received information corresponds to a date. The method determines a score based on the received information and the model, such that the score provides the indication of the likelihood that the appraisal value was faulty on the date.

Compositions for the reversal and detoxification of anesthetics and other compounds and methods of their use
Patent 7,968,124
Methods of attenuating the toxic or medically undesirable effects of drugs and toxins in a human by administering to a human an injectable formulation comprised of a dispersion of particles comprised of reversed cubic or reversed hexagonal lyotropic liquid crystalline material. The particles absorb or adsorb or otherwise sequester and attenuate the effect of drugs and toxins, and may be used as a rescue or reversal agent, or as a prophylaxis. The invention is especially applicable in reversing adverse effects of local anesthetics inadvertently delivered systemically, and attenuating the therapeutic effects of general anesthetics in the course of treatment.

Ballistic-resistant article including one or more layers of cross-plied uhmwpe tape in combination with cross-plied fibers
Patent 7,972,679
A ballistic-resistant molded article having a sandwich-type structure including two outer portions of a first high modulus material surrounding an inner portion of a second high modulus material. The outer portions are comprised of a plurality of interleaved layers of adhesive coated cross-plied non-fibrous ultra high molecular weight polyethylene tape. The inner portion is comprised of a plurality of interleaved layers of high modulus cross-plied fibers embedded in resin. The stack of interleaved layers is compressed at high temperature and pressure to form a hybrid sandwich ballistic-resistant molded article that includes a mix of high modulus materials. It has been found that ballistic resistance is higher for the hybrid structure than for a monolithic structure of comparable areal density.
