Richmond, Va., Feb. 6, 2013 — Boitnott Visual Communications, “BVC,” announced that its sales and integration division has been sold to existing veteran company employees, headed by Patrick Hearring and Peter Norman. The new company is called “Code 3 AV, Inc.” and will continue to work from the BVC complex in Richmond, Va.
Founded in 1969 by Harrell Boitnott, BVC specializes in audio-visual equipment rental, rental staging, sales, installation and support to hundreds of clients on the East Coast. The rental department caters to corporate clients in need of rental equipment and event production support. BVC’s inventory includes computer data/video projection systems, computer/video switching systems, video production systems, large/small venue sound systems, lighting systems and multimedia systems. BVC will continue to provide all rental services and contracted on-site audio visual support personnel for its clients. These remaining BVC divisions will be managed by President Keith Boitnott.
Code 3 AV will specialize in the design, sale, service and integration of AV equipment, including the integration, installation, and support of boardrooms, video conference systems, presentation systems, network operation centers, classrooms, digital signage and houses of worship. Code 3 AV will also provide maintenance and support contracts with full testing and preventative maintenance visits for its systems.
In announcing the sale, Boitnott said, “We are very happy to provide this exciting opportunity to a group of very capable employees. Pat Hearring and Peter Norman have done an outstanding job of growing this division, and we fully expect that success to continue as Code 3 AV”. In addition to Hearring, nine other BVC employees will join the new company. Collectively, the group has more than 100 years of experience in the AV industry. Hearring said, “This is a remarkable opportunity for us. We are grateful to Harrell and BVC for making this happen. Code 3 AV will continue to build upon the great reputation that BVC has earned over the years.”
