BrownGreer announced two promotions to counsel:

Corinne Kizner manages review processes in a mass claims settlement program and serves as a liaison to claimants, lawyers and accountants. Kizner received a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University.

Alexander W. Mejias drafts claims administration policies, manages internal procedures and contributes to the design of claims review processes. In addition, Mejias provides legal counsel to artists, artist managers and record labels in the music industry. Mejias received a B.A. and a J.D from the University of Virginia.

McGuireWoods announced that it promoted 13 lawyers to partnership level, effective Jan. 1. The partners in the Richmond area include:

Jeremy S. Byrum (government, regulatory and criminal investigations) focuses his practice on white-collar criminal defense, internal corporate investigations and False Claims Act litigation.

Mitchell K. Morris (toxic tort and environmental litigation) has a diverse litigation practice representing clients in a wide array of matters in state and federal courts.

Troutman Sanders announced the election of nine partners, including the following who practice in the firm’s Richmond offices:

William G. Homiller (Richmond/real estate) focuses his practice on all areas of commercial real estate, including development, acquisition, sale, financing, land use and zoning, and construction.

John D. McPhaul II (Richmond/finance) focuses his practice on the representation of commercial lending institutions, including major national, regional and local banks, in a variety of financing transactions.

Finance

Genworth Financial named Lori M. Evangel its executive vice president and chief risk officer. Evangel comes to Genworth from Aflac, where she served as a managing director and chief risk officer for global investments.

Michael Rivera is now the Wells Fargo business banking manager and vice president in Richmond. Rivera will manage one of two business banking teams in Richmond. Rivera transferred to Richmond after spending 11 years with Wells Fargo in Sacramento, Calif.

Technology

AIBioTech announced the addition of Kristine L. Bucasas as group leader of clinical services. Bucasas will direct the clinical operations and help ensure laboratory quality and regulatory compliance. Bucasas comes to AIBioTech with a background in immunology from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

WebStrategies named Chris Leone its chief operating officer and Dave McKillen its director of operations.

Marketing

NewClients announced that Barrett Hubbard has joined the company as chief operating officer. Before joining NewClients, Hubbard was chief operating officer of Motley’s Auction and Realty Group. Before Motley’s, Barrett spent more than 20 years in the insurance industry.

Loughridge & Company announced the promotion of Kevin M. Jones to vice president of operations. Jones will remain active with project management while also handling the day-to-day operations of the company. Jones graduated from Virginia Tech in 2003 with a degree in building construction and has 17 years of experience in construction. He has worked at Loughridge since its inception in 2006.

Sports

The San Francisco Giants hired Russ Morman as manager for the 2014 Richmond Flying Squirrels. Morman has spent the past three years as a hitting coach for the Giants’ Triple-A club in Fresno and had worked in 2010 as a hitting coach for the Double-A Flying Squirrels.

Nonprofits

Ramsey Ismael and John Erbach have been named to the board of directors of Read to Them, a Richmond-based nonprofit with the mission of creating a culture of literacy in every home.
