Deb Hagan has joined Barber Martin Agency as chief creative officer. Hagan previously served as senior vice president and group creative director at The Martin Agency, leading its Walmart and TimberlandPRO businesses for the last three years. She has also worked at TBWA/Chiat/Day, Fallon McElligott, BBDO and Ammirati & Puris.

Impression Marketing has added four new clients: Glen Allen-based G2 Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, which has contracted the firm for digital and inbound marketing strategy development and re-execution; Southwest Virginia-based Smart Machine Technologies, which has hired Impression to provide ongoing digital marketing services; Richmond-based manufacturer BGB Technology, which is developing a new website; and Hanover-based Howell’s Heating & Air, which will receive website enhancements, digital marketing strategy and execution, and ongoing inbound and content marketing.

Planet Central launched a campaign to announce the merger of First Capital Bank with Park Sterling Bank. The campaign included radio, digital media and print and conveyed the Charlotte, North Carolina-based Park Sterling Bank’s broader availability with 10 offices in the Richmond area.

The Martin Agency will handle communications planning and creative development for travel aggregator Kayak, according to AdWeek. The effort will be led by Martin’s New York office.

The agency also named its Shockoe Slip headquarters building in honor of retiring chairman and former longtime CEO John B. Adams Jr.

Spang TV teamed up with The Martin Agency and Sabra, the official snack dip of the NFL, to make a four-part series of 15-second online spots. The series, described as “miniature spots about miniature football players with a hand-hewn vibe,” feature snack dipping as a finger-football game.

Neathawk Dubuque & Packett landed two new accounts: San Antonio, Texas-based University Health System, which selected the firm to create a new brand campaign; and Memphis, Tennessee-based FSG Investment Management, which tapped ND&P to develop a new brand and website.

Yogg founder Adam Mead has launched a sister branding agency, KARV, designed specifically for small business clients. KARV opened its doors Feb. 1 at 3119 W. Moore St. in Scott’s Addition.

VCU Brandcenter second-year strategist Steven Ebert has been offered a WPP Fellowship. Named for an advertising agency holding company, the fellowship program admits top students from MBA and graduate programs for three one-year rotations at WPP companies around the world. Ebert is the sixth Brandcenter student to receive the fellowship and is one of 12 candidates out of more than 1,500 to receive an offer this year.

Lythos Studios has been retained to purchase a statewide media buy for Sycom Technologies to celebrate the local IT firm’s 20th anniversary.

The King Agency has launched a new website, featuring a new mantra: “You don’t need an agency. You need a partner.” The slogan is described as a reflection of the firm’s efforts to move away from defining itself as a traditional ad agency.

TEDxRVA_OpenMic_posterRocket Pop Media is helping to coordinate, market and host this year’s TEDxRVA. The agency held the first of two open mic nights to cultivate a slate of Richmond-nominated speakers for the event, the theme of which is “ARTFUL.”

Richmond Ballet will be working with Lewis Media Partners to expand its media capabilities and with Karnes Coffey Design for future design and marketing efforts.

Lewis Media Partners also has been retained by Seasonal Roots, a Richmond-based online farmers market formerly known as Farm Table, as its strategic media partner.

Seasonal Roots also has partnered with Free Agents Marketing to provide strategy, creative and public relations services. FAM will develop a public relations campaign around Seasonal Roots’ recent brand and website launch and its plans to expand into new markets.

Circle S studio designed and developed a responsive website for A M King, a design-build firm headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The website features a sortable project portfolio and promotes the firm’s services and markets.

Circle S also was hired by International Roofing, a Richmond-based commercial roofing contractor, to provide a brand refresh and a new website, and by Kinsley Construction, based in York, Pennsylvania, to provide strategic marketing services.

Think804 was hired by local investment bank Harris Williams & Co. to provide a variety of print and web design work and framework for email marketing. The firm was also hired by MBM Marketing to design this year’s annual report for National Capital Bank.

Studio Flatland directed a web video for ClearPoint Credit Counseling. The home-movie-style video, called “Time Together is the Gift They’ll Remember,” features a song and story about family, sacrifice and quality time versus expensive temporary distractions.

PadillaCRT has been selected to work with The University of Alabama at Birmingham on a digital marketing campaign aimed at student recruitment. The UAB work will be done exclusively by PadillaCRT’s Richmond office.

Addison Clark developed and launched a new website with mobile capabilities along with new branding for The Coleman Institute, an outpatient detoxification center headquartered in Richmond.

Richmond Ad Club hosted its Ad Bowl event Feb. 9 at The Branching. The event mixed a happy hour with a panel of Richmond industry professionals to discuss some of the most popular ads from this year’s Super Bowl.
