Big Spoon Co. is working with Virginia Association of Cider Makers to manage PR efforts and partnerships and social media strategy for both the organization and its annual Cider Week Virginia event. The association represents 12 producers and works to expand the presence of Virginia ciders within the craft beverage industry.

TFB Agency worked with TMI Consulting to develop a book club template as part of a PR campaign for TMI co-founders Tiffany Jana and Matthew Freeman’s book, “Overcoming Bias.” The campaign targeted groups looking for guidance on leading conversations about the book and included packaged discussion questions, images and videos.

TFB also completed a social media strategy project for VCU Brandcenter. The project focused on student recruitment and included a video series featuring its admissions coordinator answering frequently asked questions. Work included research and focus groups with students and a social media content strategy.

Think was hired, through MBM Marketing, by Washington, D.C.-based National Capital Bank to help roll out a launch campaign for the bank’s new website. The agency also launched websites for local companies Keep In Touch Communications, Manakin Property Services and BadRainbow. The sites were developed using the agency’s Nutshell website template, targeted to small businesses looking to establish a web presence.

Rocket Pop Media is working on branding, marketing and promotion for the second annual Rick Sharp Classic for the Rick Sharp Alzheimer’s Foundation. The agency is also working with Sharp’s widow, Sherry Sharp, on personal branding for her writing and motivational speaking on Alzheimer’s disease. Work will include designing a logo, creating a blog and website and spearheading outreach to publications and for speaking engagements.

BES Studios completed an immersive museum exhibit for the Ben Lomond Historic Site in Northern Virginia. The exhibit integrates newly produced audio content, scent technology and programmable lighting effects. BES also produced three radio spots for Elephant Auto Insurance, and it is working with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to create a video to promote its Man & Woman of the Year campaign.

HeliumStudio launched a mobile-responsive website for locally based Porter Realty Co. The firm integrated the company’s property listings with Google maps and created a filtering system to facilitate searches. The web development firm also launched a mobile-responsive website with client login capability for Wills Financial Group, a local investment advisory.

Park Group and Juicy Films created a video to introduce Audi Sport’s new Audi RS models to the U.S. The video is featured on Audi USA’s website. The production studio and film company also produced a promotional video for BimmerWorld Racing featuring footage filmed at Virginia International Raceway and will be documenting the team preparing for a race this June.

West Cary Group hired Kate Landis as a senior copywriter. Landis was previously marketing and PR manager for the Richmond Association of Realtors and Central Virginia Regional Multiple Listing Service, where she recently wrote, produced and directed a series of TV spots.

Free Agents Marketing picked up three new clients. The agency started work with the Port of Virginia to provide media planning and buying as the port highlights its expansion projects at Norfolk International Terminal and Virginia International Gateway.

FAM is working with Great Eastern Management Company, a Charlottesville-based real estate development, construction, finance and management company. It will develop websites for three of the company’s shopping centers and provide digital, traditional and social media marketing. FAM is also working with Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel on branding, creative, marketing and PR associated with the hotel’s recent renovation project.

Hue&Cry hired Sean McClintock as creative director. The Kansas native was most recently based in New York City, where he collaborated as a freelance designer with agencies and studios including Buck, Psyop, Hornet, Imaginary Forces, Block & Tackle and Gretel. Since starting as creative director – a role previously served by Hue&Cry founder Magnus Hierta –McClintock has been involved in pitching and landing a new Oreo project.

Five19 Creative was named agency of record for Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, a Kansas-based senior living nonprofit.

Addison Clark worked with locally based Blue Moon Marketing to create a cross-channel marketing campaign for Hanover-based Gilman Heating, Cooling & PlumbingWork included logo design, social media ads, a newsletter and email marketing template and copy for the campaign, which consists of website landing pages for service specials and contests, social media and radio advertising. The agency also designed a mobile responsive website for Load Runners, an Indiana-based manufacturer.

The Hodges Partnership picked up two new clients. The PR firm is working with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Virginia campaign to promote awareness about school breakfast and summer meals programs aimed at ending childhood hunger. The firm is also working with American Shakespeare Center in Staunton on media relations for the launch of an international playwriting competition.
