Bob Rayner, editor of the editorial pages at the Richmond Times-Dispatch, has announced his retirement, effective in Feb. 2019. Jim Bacon, editorial writer hired earlier this month by Rayner, has left the editorial staff to focus on his blog, Bacon’s Rebellion.

Law

Rina Van Orden has been promoted to partner with Gavin Law Offices.

Bennett Eastham and Callaghan Guy have joined Christian & Barton as associates. Eastham is a member of the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation practice groups. He has degrees from Virginia Tech and Washington & Lee University. Guy is a member of the commercial real estate and environmental law practice areas. She has degrees from Northeastern University and the University of Richmond.

Rebecca Ivey and Thomas “Chip” Hancock IV have joined the health care section of Williams Mullen. Ivey is a partner and had been with Troutman Sanders. She has degrees from the University of Virginia. Hancock is an associate and had been with Hancock, Daniel & Johnson. Hancock had been in the U.S. Marine Corps and has degrees from Virginia Military Institute and the University of Richmond.

Investment Banking

Joining Keiter Advisors, the result of a combination of Keiter Stephens Advisors with Keiter Transaction Advisors:

Carroll Hurst will be a director, effective Jan. 2019. He will continue as director of Keiter.

Jim McGrath, Matthew Austin, Bill Beattie and Scott Zickefoose are moving from Keiter Transaction Advisors to the Keiter Advisors.

Associations

Nick Serfass has been elected executive director of the Richmond Technology Council. He had been with the American Institute of Architecture Students. He has degrees from the University of Virginia, the University of Miami and Auburn University.

Engineering

Cameron Palmore has joined Dewberry as an associate and senior project manager. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Business Services

Samantha Gonzalez has joined Seneca Resources as a technical recruiter. She had been with New York Life Insurance Co. and is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Sarah Mallett and Alex Paxton are national recruiters.

Mary Fulcher is an account manager.

Uzair Razak has joined Apex Life Sciences as a national recruiter.

Gary Hughes has been named director of community corrections services for Chesterfield County, effective Jan. 2019. He is the community corrections services director with Henrico County and is a graduate of Arizona State University.

Taylor Pritchard is a senior financial reporting analyst. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Brendan Berry is a lead developer. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Robert Watts Jr. has joined First Bank as senior vice president. He had been with First Capital Bank and is a graduate University of Virginia.

David Russell was promoted to senior developer in the digital group of Padilla. He had been a developer.

Matt Mattox has been promoted to group account director with The Martin Agency. He will be leading the GEICO account.

Kate Bredimus was named an associate creative director. She had been a senior copywriter.

Liz Belte has been promoted to art director. She had been a graphic designer.

Beth Borum is an associate creative director. She had been with Popskull in Chicago.

Nikki Battle is a search engine marketing analyst. She had been with Sinclair Broadcasting Group.
