Departure

Michael Turner, head of school for St. Michael’s Episcopal School, is leaving to lead the Shipley School in Pennsylvania. Robert “Bob” Gregg III has been named his successor, effective July 1. Gregg is currently with Green Hedges in Vienna, Virginia and has degrees from the University of New Hampshire and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Law

Jonathan Gonzalez has joined the litigation practice group at McCandlish Holton. He has degrees from the University of South Florida and the College of William and Mary.

Morgan Meador, Andrew Oxenreiter, Orran Brown Jr. and Jake Woody have been named partners with BrownGreer.

At Whiteford Taylor & Preston:

Elizabeth Atkinson has joined as a partner. She focuses her practice on federal, state, local and international taxation and employee benefit matters with emphasis on tax controversy, employment tax issues, and tax and benefits planning. She has degrees from the University of Virginia and Michigan State University.

Joseph “Ricky” Lefft has joined the sports law practice as senior counsel. He has degrees from the University of South Carolina.

At Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman:

Leslie Winneberger and Robert Friedman have been named partners. Winneberger defends claims involving civil rights, labor and employment, local government, law enforcement, and religious institutions. Friedman focuses his practice on insurance coverage litigation.

Saemi Murphy and Emily Bishop have been named of counsel. Murphy defends claims involving civil rights, wrongful death, personal injury, construction defect, logging/trucking accident, malicious prosecution, excessive force, premises and professional liability. Bishop focuses her practice on motor vehicle accident cases, local government and law enforcement officials, and landlords and property owners.

Banking

At Virginia Commonwealth Bank:

Afua Essandoh is vice president, financial planning and analysis. She had been with Xenith Bank.

Lisa Sylva is vice president, deposit operations manager. She had been with Union Bank & Trust.

Accounting

At Mitchell Wiggins:

Christopher Budd is tax manager. He has degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Andrew Jones and Brendon Maturey are staff accountants. Jones is a graduate of Christopher Newport University. Maturey is a graduate of Bridgewater College.

Technology

Phaedra Hise has joined StreetLight Data as director, content marketing. She had been with Legacy Navigator.

Scott Greenway and Dominique Wilson are technical support engineers with Entec.

Charles Phillips and C.J. Ramey are deskside support specialists.

Oscar Taylor is a printer support technician.

Jammette Blackwell, Pamela Greene, Kenya Thomas and Elia Valentin are call center specialists.

Jason Crowder has been promoted to senior portfolio manager in commercial property services with Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer.

Jack Boland has joined Workshop Digital as lead SEO analyst. He had been with Alton Lane.

Evans Mandes has joined The Hodges Partnership as a member of the account services team. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.

Sarah Jean Wright has joined We Think In Ink as a senior customer service manager.

Jason “Jay” Brown has been named chief executive officer for Commonwealth Catholic Charities. He had been the division director of housing services.

Thurston Moore has been named chairman of the board of directors of NextUp RVA. He is chairman emeritus of Hunton Andrews Kurth.
