Director Vance Spilman acquired 1,000 shares at $8.55 apiece for a total of $8,500. HE now owns more than 21,000 shares of the bank’s stock.

Genworth Financial (GNW)

The Henrico-based insurer announced the closing of the sale of its majority stake in its Canadian mortgage insurance unit in a deal valued at $2.4 billion. Brookfield Business Partners was the buyer, paying $48.86 Canadian dollars per share. The deal was considered as another step toward Genworth closing its long-pending deal to be acquired by conglomerate China Oceanwide.

Kinsale Capital Group (KNSL)

COO Brian Haney gifted 7,000 shares to an undisclosed charity. Haney still owns 167,000 shares.

Markel (MKL)

Co-CEO Richard Whitt III sold 250 shares at $1,133 per share. Whitt now directly owns 8,482 shares of common stock.

Village Bank and Trust Financial (VBFC)
