Carytown’s Can Can Brasserie is in the hands of a new owner.

The popular restaurant at 3120 W. Cary St. has been sold to an entity tied to its current general manager, Paul Kincaid IV, according to a certificate of occupancy filed with the city this week.

The city document shows the restaurant now is owned by Kincaid Hospitality Co. LLC, and that it will continue doing business as Can Can.

The French restaurant was founded at 3120 W. Cary St. in 2005 by Chris Ripp, the son of the late Dick Ripp, who owned many Arby’s franchises throughout the region.

Ripp deferred comment to Kincaid, who declined to comment at this time. Kincaid’s brother, John Kincaid, is a chef at Can Can.

Can Can temporarily closed in the wake of the pandemic but has been gradually reopening since late May. The building, along with the rest of Cary Court, is owned by Sauer Properties.
