Mthods of preventing and/or treating reperfusion injury are provided. The methods involve administering alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2MG) to a subject with ischemia in one or more tissues or organs, in order to prevent or decrease reperfusion injury when blood flow is restored to the tissues or organs (reperfusion). In some aspects, the patient who is treated has had a heart attack (e.g. acute myocardial infarction, AMI) and the ischemic tissue that is protected from reperfusion injury is heart tissue.

Systems and methods for reaction measurement

This disclosure relates to systems, media, and methods for quantifying and monitoring visual acuity, motor skill, and cognitive ability of a user through measuring user activities while the user responds to prompts on an electronic device. Disclosed embodiments may receive image data from a user-facing camera, motion data from a sensor device attached to the user, location data from a touchscreen, and time data measuring a user’s response times. Disclosed embodiments may provide graphical user interfaces to which the user responds and calculate health metrics based on characteristics of the user’s response. Disclosed embodiments may calculate visual acuity, motor skill, and cognitive ability metrics based on data measured while the user responds to the graphical user interfaces. Disclosed embodiments may include comparing the metrics to respective baseline values and providing an alert when the metrics deviate from threshold values indicating a change in user health.

The system additionally includes a second mechanism that rotates the first section relative to the second section while the first section and the second section are in the flute. Provided is predictive modeling for anti-malware solutions. The predictive modeling includes an identification manager component that generates profile data for a hostile source. The hostile source is identified based on a previous threat attributed to the hostile source. The predictive modeling also includes an evaluation component that determines a characteristic of an interaction between a source and an endpoint. Further, the predictive modeling includes a validation component that compares the characteristic of the interaction with the profile data and controls access to the source by the endpoint based on the comparison. In addition, anti-malware software is not deployed on the endpoint.

An e-vapor device may include a pre-vapor sector and a heater structure arranged in thermal contact with the pre-vapor sector. The pre-vapor sector is configured to hold and dispense a pre-vapor formulation. The heater structure includes a base wire and a shell layer coating the base wire. The base wire is insulated from the shell layer. The shell layer includes at least one recessed portion between a first unrecessed portion and a second unrecessed portion. The at least one recessed portion is a thinner section of the shell layer that is configured to vaporize the pre-vapor formulation to generate a vapor. As a result of the heater design, the heater structure is stiffer and more robust than other related heaters in the art, thus allowing more options for its implementation.

The subject matter described herein includes a safety device for a tank having a fluid material therein. The safety device includes a tank collar wherein the collar is threaded on an inner facing circumference and defines a groove on an outer facing circumference. The tank collar is engageably received by the tank by threadably engaging the threaded inner facing circumference with a correspondingly threaded outer facing surface of the tank. The safety device also includes a cap having a locking collar formed about an open end of the cap, wherein the collar defines apertures circumferentially spaced around an inner circumference thereof. The cap includes a locking ring configured for being translatably engaged with the locking collar. The cap includes at least one ball bearing that is received within one of the apertures. The at least one ball bearing is retractable and extendable within the aperture.
