Twin Hickory-area condos, Sauer industrial zoning on Henrico agenda
Henrico supervisors meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Full agenda here. Public hearing items include rezoning requests from HHHunt and Sauer Properties. HHHunt is proposing a 90-unit residential and commercial project near an entrance to Twin Hickory, while Sauer’s request would allow an industrial distribution development of 226 acres it owns south of Richmond International Airport.
Also on the agenda, Stanley Martin Homes and Wilton Acquisition LLC seek rezoning and permit approvals for a residential development with townhomes and houses on 32 acres north of Scott Road between Interstate 95 and Aberdeen Street. The land is just south of the site of Stanley Martin’s approved ReTreat at One development, totaling 500 homes east of Brook Road.

Two projects totaling 200 homes, event venue requests on Hanover agenda
The Hanover Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday. Agenda here. Business includes a rezoning request for Hickory Grove, a multiuse development by Rogers-Chenault Inc. consisting of 100 age-restricted townhomes and commercial development north of East Patrick Henry Road at its intersection with Providence Church Road. The rezoning request covers about 52 acres of land.
A separate rezoning request would allow the creation of 52 single-family lots and 45 townhomes, along with a storage facility, on Old Keeton Road at its intersection with U.S. Route 1.
Also on the agenda is a conditional-use permit needed for an events venue on 12 acres of land on Horseshoe Bridge Road near its intersection with West Patrick Henry Road. Another conditional-use permit for an events venue will be considered for an existing property near the intersection of River Road and Broad Neck Road. Public hearings will be held before votes.

Carver Square, B-3 zoning changes on City Council agenda
The Richmond City Council meets Monday, agendas here. Business on the agenda for the 6 p.m. regular session includes special-use permit and road closure requests for Carver Square, a 90-unit condo development that Stanley Martin Homes is planning on about 3 acres at North Lombardy and West Moore streets.
The council will consider proposed changes to the city’s B-3 zoning district that were initially introduced this summer. Also on the agenda is an ordinance in which the city would acquire the Social Services building at 900 E. Marshall St. from Advantage Richmond Corp., which is in the process of being dissolved after meeting its debt obligations on the property.
Powhatan planners vote against solar farm
The Powhatan Planning Commission last week voted to recommend denial of a conditional-use permit needed to allow construction of a solar farm on the northern end of Brauer Road and along the southern side of Three Bridge Road. The proposed project area consists of 200 acres. The county’s Board of Supervisors will give a final verdict at a future meeting.
Richmond awards business grant funds, more available
The city of Richmond has approved 123 grant awards through its Richmond Recovers Grant Program. Applicants were notified of their approved grant applications and will receive a total of $1.32 million in grant funding.
Of those awarded, 42 are restaurants and nine are nonprofit organizations. The city allocated $3 million of its federal CARES Act allocation to fund the program, which has $1.68 million left to award. Program guidelines and eligibility requirements can be found here.
