Charter Colony extension, senior living facility on Chesterfield agenda

The Chesterfield County Planning Commission is scheduled to meet Tuesday. Full agenda here.

On deck is the return of a proposal for a 495-unit subdivision of single-family homes and townhomes that would be an extension of Charter Colony.

The HHHunt project would consist of 375 single-family houses and 120 townhomes, according to a staff report. The project area is about 157 acres.

The parcels in the application are 801 Otterdale Road, 601 Westbury Drive, 327 Old Otterdale Road and 520 Charlemagne Road.

Also on the agenda is a proposal by Centric Development to build a senior living facility on about 15 acres at 12015 Midlothian Turnpike, which is near Stonehenge Village shopping center.

The development would consist of a three-story independent living facility with a maximum of 150 units. The second building would be an assisted living facility, also three stories with a maximum of 150 units, according to the staff report.

Caduceus Development is requesting a rezoning and conditional use permit to build a mixed-use project that would feature a maximum of 210 apartments. The project would rise at 11501 Iron Bridge Road on about 13 acres across from Ironbridge Sports Park.

The development would consist of four commercial buildings along Iron Bridge Road and a single apartment building, according to the staff report.

Recommendations by the commission are made to the Board of Supervisors, which would render a final verdict on each at a future meeting.

Chesterfield supervisors to vote on Oasis Park, funding for middle schools

The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors is scheduled to meet Wednesday. Full agenda here.

The board is expected to vote on whether to give final approval to Oasis Park, which would include the construction of up to 475 residential units on roughly 60 acres near Cosby High School.

The development is planned to include up to 400 townhomes and could also include a 175-unit assisted living facility. The development would be capped at 475 residential units.

West Broad Street greenspace, TOD zoning on city planning agenda

The Richmond Planning Commission meets Monday at 1:30 p.m. Full agenda here.

Business includes review of a conceptual plan for West Broad Street Green, an open space planned between Broad, Hamilton and Laurel streets across from Scott’s Addition.

Also on the agenda is a presentation on proposed zoning changes along Broad Street west of Interstate 195. The proposals are related to City Councilmember Andreas Addison’s push to extend the city’s TOD-1 Transit-Oriented Nodal District zoning westward along Broad.

The commission plans to defer a special-use permit request from Virginia Union University to allow its “VUU” signage to remain on its campus belltower. The illuminated signs were placed without required city and state approvals, and an agreement between the university and the state is in the works but wasn’t expected to be completed in time for the meeting.

9.20R Agenda Glenwood sitePlanRevised

A revised site plan shows how the 290 homes would be separated by the creek area that bisects the Glenwood Golf Course property.

Glenwood Golf Course development plan approved in Henrico

At its meeting last week, the Henrico County Board of Supervisors approved Godsey Properties’ reworked plan to develop Glenwood Golf Course with two residential subdivisions totaling 290 homes. The proposal, reduced from 320 homes, was recommended for approval by the Planning Commission in July.

The board approved a rezoning request from Starbucks Corp. to convert the former BB&T branch at 6201 River Road into a new store that would feature a drive-thru. A vote on Highwoods Properties’ proposed mixed-use development on about 34 acres at Innsbrook’s northern entrance at Nuckols Road and Interstate 295 was deferred to the board’s Oct. 12 meeting.
