The BizSense newsroom is growing. Meet our newest reporter.

Jackie DiBartolomeo

Richmond BizSense is starting the new year by expanding our newsroom.

Jackie DiBartolomeo joined the staff earlier this month as our newest reporter.

She’s now one of five full-time reporters here and has hit the ground running, covering a variety of beats including startups, nonprofits, local government and public companies, among other topics. Here’s her work to-date.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland, and raised in Manassas, Jackie graduated from University of Maryland with a major in journalism and a French concentration.

Fun fact: She’s fluent in French, a skill that helped her in her previous reporting gigs at the St. Albans Messenger and Essex Reporter in Vermont. She says you’d be surprised to find how many folks in Vermont speak French due to its proximity to Montreal to the north.

More fun facts: She’s a big Francophile, a St. Patrick’s Day baby and was a competitive archer as a kid.

Her first week on the job in Richmond coincided with the water crisis, leaving her, like many others, without running water in her newly rented city apartment. Still, she stayed hydrated and undeterred, and continues to hustle hard to build a network of sources around the region.

Loyal BizSense readers, please welcome Jackie into the fold and feel free to drop her a news tip if you’re hearing anything interesting around town. She can be reached at jackie@richmondbizsense.com or (703) 789-7628.
