A women’s fashion store that launched on the coast has relocated to Richmond.
Travian Vann recently opened a 1,800-square foot shop and design studio at Stony Point Fashion Park.
The company, which is named for its owner, makes and sells custom women’s clothing for special occasions, such as weddings and formal events. In addition to bridal gowns, Vann has a particular interest in designing reception dresses for brides.
“It’s when the bride is getting comfortable and doesn’t want to wear the gown anymore,” Vann said of receptions. “I focus more on that.”
Vann relocated her store from Hampton, where it originally opened in 2015 under the name Vann Collections. She said the move was made to be more centrally located in Virginia and be a more convenient place for clients to visit.
“We tried to find a midpoint for a lot of clients,” Vann said. “I feel like being in the capital was the best way to go. It was that or Northern Virginia, and I felt that would be a little far for our Hampton Roads clients.”
The store opened at suite 124 at the mall in mid-March. The space was formerly home to the Walking Co. Vann’s studio is across from Restoration Hardware and near the P.F. Chang’s restaurant. Travian Vann is also near Verseau Bistro, which opened at the mall in recent months.
The store is by-appointment during the week and open to walk-in customers on weekends.
Bridal gowns run from $5,000 to more than $10,000 and reception gowns start at $2,000. Formal gowns start at $1,500 and cocktail dresses start at $800, according to the company’s website.
Stony Point Fashion Park announced the opening of Vann’s store in a news release Wednesday. It also announced that another new retailer, Couture Cycle, is now open at the mall.
Couture Cycle sells new and used handbags and shoes. The store is in suite 122, which was formerly occupied by Bare Minerals. Couture Cycle didn’t return a phone message seeking further comment by press time Wednesday.

Interesting!
I’m glad she’s bringing a clientele base with her. Stoney Point seems like the perfect place (other than downtown) for a niche business like this.
Wishing her the best.
Thank you so much! Yes, you’re spot on! This is one of the many reasons why we selected Stony Point as a location. Our current and new clients love the aesthetics of the park-like atmosphere. It definitely WORKS a specialty store like ours!
I hope she got a great deal on her lease, and she doesn’t rely on walk in traffic to be successful. Stony Point Fashion Park has not been successful. Sad but true!!
