Hanover County purchased a 14,400 square feet flex condo unit at 9732-9742 Atlee Commons Road in Hanover for $1.7 million. The Witmeyer Law Firm leased 1,920 square feet at 10035 Sliding Hill Road in Hanover.

Bank of Virginia finds investors

Midlothian-based Bank of Virginia has found a partner that will strengthen its balance sheet and help meet conditions set forth by regulators in January.

ARC gets new digs

A local outreach center that helps individuals with intellectual disabilities moved into its new 24,000-square-foot facility in Northside this week. The ARCenter, the Greater Richmond ARC’s new home for its development and care programs, is at 3600 Saunders Ave. It also has office space for its staff members.

The Herd: Hires, promotions and departures for 4.28.10

A fat Herd this week with two departures – an executive at a local insurance firm and a lobbyist at the Chamber – and hires in law, investment banking and commercial real estate. Plus a Marine who enlisted on Sept. 12, 2001, is the new headmaster at a private school.

Brokerage pushes south

One of Richmond’s last independent brokerages just landed a foothold in Florida by hiring almost a dozen former employees of a collapsed firm.

Foreclosures: 4.27.10

Three of this week’s properties are making their second appearance in the foreclosure section. And Hooper Homes is reporting foreclosures on five of their lots in the Jackson Crossing subdivision in Hanover County. The original loan value for the lots was not disclosed.
