Traditions of America, L.P. v. Marjorie B. Taylor

Plaintiff says on/about Aug. 31, 2017, it entered into a real estate sales contract with Harold M. Taylor Jr. for the sale of 108.24+ acres in Chesterfield County, commonly known as 10600 Hollyberry Drive, on which plaintiff is planning a 233-home age-restricted residential community. Plaintiff says Taylor died on/about Sept. 12, 2017, and defendant became the new owner, and that due to the pandemic, the closing date was delayed, but plaintiff is ready to proceed and gave notice to defendant that closing would occur on June 30, 2021. Defendant has refused to close, plaintiff says, indicating she is relisting the property in an attempt to sell it to another buyer. Plaintiff says it has obtained all the necessary zoning and other regulatory approvals needed and has expended considerable money on the project, requests specific performance and seeks judgment of $20,229,472 in spent or incurred costs, in lost profits and investment costs, and in damages that increase daily.
