Say “Bon Voyage” to Summer at Massey on the River

Richmond, VA (July 14, 2010)–The Massey Alliance invites the community to plan now to close out the summer season at Massey on the River, a fun-filled, laid-back riverfront evening on Saturday, September 25 from 5-9 p.m. on Rock Bottom Island.  Sponsored by East End Resource Recovery, Massey on the River promises great food, all-you-can-drink beverages from Loveland Distributors and Pepsi, and yacht-rock music from local favorites “Three Sheets to the Wind,” all at one of the most scenic spots in Richmond. The silent auction will feature enticing packages, including a trip to the luxurious Montpelier Plantation in Nevis, West Indies. Proceeds from the event benefit VCU Massey Cancer Center.

Massey on the River is a signature event of the Massey Alliance, Massey’s junior board of young professionals with a passion for supporting cancer research at Richmond’s only NCI-designated cancer center.  Founded in February 2002, the Massey Alliance has donated more than $300,000 to research at Massey Cancer Center, and recently committed to raising another $300,000 by 2014.  The volunteer group also provides a unique opportunity for the next generation of philanthropists to learn about cancer research and non-profit

Event tickets will be sold at www.masseyontheriver.org for $25 in advance and $35 at the door.  This event is intended for those 21 and older.
