Mondial Assistance Announces 2011 Philanthropy Recipients

Richmond, Va., March 10, 2011 – Mondial Assistance today announced the recipients of five grants that will be awarded to non-profit organizations selected by their associates. Four of the five are based in the Greater Richmond area. The recipients will each receive a donation between $4,000 and $6,000 from the company.

The recipients of the Mondial Assistance 2011 philanthropic awards are:
World Pediatric Project (formerly International Hospital for Children)
Richmond’s Ronald McDonald House Charities
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Central Virginia Food Bank
Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation

“Mondial Assistance wants to support the organizations that our associates are passionate about,” said Mark Cipolletti, vice president for communications and community relations at Mondial Assistance.

Cipolletti led the internal effort to identify target focus areas and develop a selection process for grant recipients that engaged the entire company. All associates at Mondial were invited to vote on nominees for the grants and more than two thirds participated in the selection process. Mondial Assistance also supports many of their grant recipients through volunteerism.

“Thanks to our friends at Mondial, not only has a significant donation been made to help offset the costs of our [kitchen] renovation, a vital project for our organization, but through their volunteerism meals are provided and project groups help keep our House a home,” said Jason E. Young, executive director of RMHC of Richmond.

“Mondial Assistance is already a great supporter of the World Pediatric Project and we are thrilled that they have reaffirmed their support for, and belief in, our services by awarding us this grant,” said Sue Farley, vice president for development at World Pediatric Project. “We thank all of the Mondial Assistance associates for their nominations.”
