Richmond, VA Oct. 9, 2011 – 8 a.m. start – Richmond Multisports (RMS) will produce the Brickman Richmond Sprint Triathlon for the eighth year, Richmond’s longest running “on road” triathlon.
RMS, a triathlon event company started by local triathlete Laurie Mehler, begins its eighth season with a 400 meter swim, 11 mile rolling bike, and 5k run through nice adjoining neighborhoods and a beautiful lake. This year, the event has moved to a new home and will be held at the Midlothian YMCA. It is a great event for first-time triathletes. The race benefits the VCU Massey CancerCenter.
We are very proud to have Brickman as our Title Sponsor for the Richmond Sprint Triathlon. Brickman is one of the top commercial landscaping companies in the USA, making a difference in our community – “Plant friendly, planet friendly.” We still need more volunteers to help with this great event. The temperatures are usually stellar in October – in the mid 70’s. We also have incredible stories and acts of courage of people racing a triathlon for the first time or overcoming life’s challenges. Many are cancer survivors. Come out and see what it’s all about.
RMS anticipates over 1,500 total spectators, volunteers, and racers from the area.
