Underwrite commercial insurance risks to include reviewing, analyzing, accepting and declining risks to ensure profitability for Kinsale. Communicate with underwriting management on individual accounts, current and proposed producers, & make recommendations concerning systems & procedures. Underwrite & select new business that will produce an underwriting profit. Review submissions & ID exposure & risk, determine accurate classifications, rates & premium charges. Monitor producers for profitability & production. Market products to producers by coordinating marketing plan with Team Leader. May also develop forms & coverages in partnership w/ others.
Must have excellent oral & written communications skills, be PC literate w/ emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel – to include manipulation of pivot tables. Strong analytical & organizational skills; team player that enjoys a flexible, spontaneous business environment. Ability to make occasional business trips. Bachelors degree in business, economics, risk management or related field.
