A Nelson County brewery is now transporting its beers down Interstate 64 to Richmond.
Devils Backbone Brewing Co., which opened in 2008, kicked things off in Richmond with a Steal the Glass Night event Jan. 31 at Capital Ale House. The brewery is also sponsoring a bar crawl Wednesday in the Fan.
The company is working with locally-based Brown Distributing and is shipping five of its brews to Richmond, including its Eight Point IPA, Vienna Lager, Kilt Flasher, Ale of Fergus and Schwartz Bier.
Devils Backbone has a second location in Lexington that opened in December.
Also on the beer beat: California-based brewery Napa Smith recently started shipping a few of its beers to Richmond.

This is exciting news. I’ve been hoping for a while that some of the “brew ridge trails” breweries would come to Richmond.
Love that Vienna Lager!
