Saks Fifth Avenue Raises over $1.1 Million for Local Charities through Nationwide Program

New York, NY (May1, 2012) — Saks Fifth Avenue has announced that over $1.1 million in charitable contributions has been awarded to 196 organizations around the country, arising from its February Charity Program. In February 2012, Saks gave 5% of all registered purchases made with a registeredSaks Fifth   Avenue credit card back to charity.  The donations benefited a myriad of local organizations, keeping support within eachSaks Fifth Avenue store’s immediate community..

“Saks Fifth Avenueis thrilled with the results from our first month-long nationwide charitable program.” said Steve Sadove, Chairman and CEO, Saks Incorporated. “Giving back locally in a massive way that touches organizations and customers across the country is exciting and something we aim to continue moving forward.”

During the charity program, customers were able to select their favorite local charity fromSaks   Fifth Avenue’s roster of organizations to which they wished to allocate their 5% contribution. Registration was one simple step at point of sale that linked the customer account with their chosen charity.

Saks Fifth Avenue Richmond partnered with the following charities from February 1 to 29, 2012 and donated over $18,000 in total:

  • Children’s Museum of Richmond
  • Central Virginia Food Bank
  • Richmond SPCA

With the success of the February Charity Program, Saks Fifth Avenueis bringing its charitable initiatives under one banner for the first time this spring. A new Saks Gives logo will recognize Saks Fifth Avenue’s dedication to charity. Saks Gives will brand the charitable service through philanthropic giving and active outreach both locally and nationally.
