One of Richmond’s largest homebuilders will soon be digging again in Henrico County.
HHHunt last month bought 50 acres at the intersection of Woodman and Mountain roads, where it plans a $6 million, 127-home development.
The firm purchased the property, which is near Glen Allen High School, for about $1 million. The project will be called the Townes at Woodman.
Daniel Schmitt, president at HHHunt Communities, said the company would break ground this March. M&T Bank is the lender.
The Townes will include 82 townhouses and 45 single-family houses, which Schmitt said might appeal to younger professionals and families.
“We’re finding townhomes are attractive for a lot of buyers because of the price point,” he said. “Some of those are first-time buyers.”
The townhouses will be priced between $190,000 and $230,000. The detached houses will be between $250,000 and $290,000.
Schmitt said that home sales have improved steadily but that the number of people looking is lower.
“Our traffic is down this month in all three of our home building divisions, but our sales are higher than they were last year,” he said. “The buyers that are looking are serious buyers, and they can qualify.”

I am interested in a townhouse to be built at Woodman near Mountain. My property is being sold commercially if all goes as planned….still needs to be zoned…etc. Planned closing date on my property is to be January 2015. I am wondering when these townhomes are scheduled to be completed.
