George Peyton will retire from his position as a lobbyist with the Retail Merchants Association. He joined the organization in 1989 and attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

D. Keith Wells left his position as a senior vice president for SunTrust after nine years. Previously, Wells spent 10 years with First Union/Wachovia. Wells launched Wells Financial, a firm that will provide commercial real estate capital solutions to real estate owners, developers and investors.

Moncure Geho has been elected to Davenport & Company’s board of directors.

Mark L. Mullinix joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond as first vice president and chief operating officer. He started working with the Fed in 1986 and is currently an executive vice president with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Mullinix succeeds Sally Green, who is retiring next month.

S. Jeanne LeFever was promoted to partner. She has been with the firm for 17 years and worked on projects for the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and the University of Virginia.

Andrew B. Moore was promoted to principal. Moore joined the firm in 2004. He is president of the Partnership for Smarter Growth and on the board of directors for the Storefront for Community Design.

H&A Architects & Engineers announced the following hires in the firm’s Glen Allen office:

Raymond Balog III joined as an engineer-in-training in the mechanical department. Balog specializes in systems engineering. He attended Virginia Tech.

James Rooke joined as a designer in the electrical department. Rooke has a background in submarine nuclear power and mechanical systems for the U.S. Navy. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

Law

Keith Phillips will succeed retiring U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Douglas Tice Jr. Phillips is a Richmond bankruptcy attorney and attended the College of William and Mary and the University of Richmond.

Kevin J. Funk was elected as a director with DurretteCrump.

Security

Beth Johnston joined American Security Group in the business development division. She has 12 years of industry experience and attended Virginia Tech.

Health care

Deborah T. Zimmerman has been elected chair of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on the Magnet Recognition Program. Zimmerman is the chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. She joined VCU after a 23-year career with Rochester General Hospital.

Real estate

Frank M. Galleher III joined CBRE|Richmond’s retail team as vice president. He has 26 years of industry experience and attended Ferrum College and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Communications

Charles Ryan Associates announced the following hires:

Melissa Marshall joined as a graphic designer. She attended West Liberty University.

Matt McCloud joined as an account coordinator. He attended Longwood University.
