BB&T Capital Markets hired Michael H. Riskind as head of institutional sales and trading for its equity capital markets group. Riskind, who has an MBA from Northwestern University, previously worked for KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he served as head of institutional equity sales.

Hunton & Williams LLP added Laura Colombell Marshall as a partner in its Richmond office. Marshall was a senior member of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia for more than 14 years.

Greta J. Harris has been appointed president and chief executive of the Better Housing Coalition, succeeding T.K. Somanath, who is retiring. Harris, a Virginia Tech graduate, was most recently vice president for the Local Initiatives Support Coalition.

The Virginia Association of Museums appointed Jennifer Thomas executive director. Thomas has been with VAM for 13 years, most recently as its interim executive director. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware and William & Mary.
