A Carytown retailer’s inventory has spilled over into Scott’s Addition.
Need Supply Co. leased almost 15,000 square feet of warehouse space at 1600 Belleville St. A growing online retail operation prompted the expansion, according to spokesperson Molly Szkotak.
The shop had been shipping orders from its storefront at 3100 W. Cary St. but needed more space. It ships across the United States and has a growing customer base in countries including Russia and Australia, she said.
The 17-year-old retailer employs 40 people, Szkotak said. The company would not share sales figures.
Need Supply’s website offers high-end denim, shoes and accessories for men and women.
The retailer moved inventory from Carytown to the Scott’s Addition location last week. It began shipping orders out of the warehouse this week, Szkotak said. The warehouse will also be home to the business’s customer service center, she said.
CBRE represented Need Supply Co. on the deal.
