Kimberly Bowers will leave the University of Richmond in early December. Bowers is a 2005 graduate of UR and joined the staff in 2009 as a major gift officer for the School of Law. She is moving to Washington to become the senior associate director of development for the Columbian College School of Arts and Sciences at George Washington University.

McGuireWoods announced that Richmond partner Scott Oostdyk has been named by the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia to serve a two-year term on the commonwealth’s inaugural Virginia Access to Justice Commission.
Fred Gerson opened FG Law inside the offices at 536 Granite Ave. The firm specializes in entity and capital formation, intellectual property and trademarks, business and commercial transactions and litigation, administrative and regulatory law, and mediation/arbitration.

Sarah Abubaker Mansell was promoted to director of advancement data services at the University of Richmond. She will manage the department responsible for the maintenance of constituent data and the processing and reporting on all philanthropic gifts made to the university. Sarah started with UR in 2011 as associate director of annual giving.

Kelly Madigan Beekman was hired as a business development associate for Frontier Academy of the Frontier Project. Beekman has a master’s degree in religious studies from the University of Chicago.
Becky Crump was hired as a communications associate for the Frontier Project. Crump was previously the marketing director at Ellwood Thompson’s & Dawson’s Market. Crump has a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Jess Erwin was hired as a production coordinator and executive administrator. Erwin was previously with Rocket Pop Media and has a bachelor’s degree in communication and studio art from Mary Baldwin College.
