Richmond, Va. — A dozen of Richmond’s finest retail jewelers – Cheryl Fornash Jewelers, Adolf Jewelers, Carreras Jewelers, Charles Schwarzschild Jewelers, Cowardin’s Jewelers, Dransfield’s Jewelers, Fink’s Jewelers, Jack Kreuter Jewelers, Saks Fifth Avenue, Schwarzschild Jewelers, Vera’s Fine Jewelers and Victoria Charles Jewellery – helped to raise $10,425 with their Jewels for Children Raffle at the 50th Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball, held Nov. 1 at the Country Club of Virginia.

The raffle for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball is the fourth created by the jewelers under the leadership of Cheryl Fornash, the principal of Cheryl Fornash Jewelers. Each jeweler donated a piece of jewelry with a retail value of $1,500 to create the multi-faceted collection.

“I have been very impressed with the cooperation that I’ve received from all of the participating jewelers,” commented Cheryl Fornash. “One thing my colleagues and I agree on is the importance of giving back to the community. Our annual ‘Jewels’ raffle provides a way we can work together to make a meaningful donation to the community. These fine jewelers have been doing business in Richmond for decades and continue to generously support the community. I’m thrilled that the raffle has been so well received by the public, and that it continues to add an exciting element to the charity events.”

The “Jewels” raffles have raised more than $61,400 for Richmond nonprofit organizations since 2011.

Funds raised during the 2013 Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball will directly support the Healthy Lifestyles Center at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
