The Martin Agency launched three new TV spots for Geico:

Thomas Becher, senior vice president at Neathawk Dubuque & Packett, has been named 2014 Mid-Atlantic district chair for the Public Relations Society of America.

Free Agents Marketing will provide advertising, media and digital services for Chesapeake-based First Team Automotive Group of Hampton Roads.

Lythos Studios has been hired to provide advertising and marketing services for Duffy’s Repair Service in the Ashland Air Park. Lythos Studios will also complete a website and create a campaign for LeCompte Travel and will do a holiday branding campaign and a new printed and online brochure for Wakefield Peanut Company. In addition, Lythos Studios was hired by Jan-Pro of Richmond and Charlottesville to develop a new website and a digital campaign for the Charlottesville market.

Performance Food Group selected Big River to create a new experience for their portfolio of brands, including ROMA.

Franklin Street’s TV spot for Martin Health System was recognized by Aha Media Group as one of the top 10 hospital commercials of 2013.

Two VCU Brandcenter alumni were named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for marketing: Jeff MacDonald of the Martin Agency and Charles Merritt of 80amps.

The American Marketing Association Richmond Chapter received a 2012-13 Excellence Award from the organization’s international headquarters for overall excellence in communications.

The King Agency will do comprehensive marketing services for Lumenis, an Israel-based company specializing in medical and aesthetic lasers and light-based technology.

Big River announced four hires for its new Engagement Department:

Casey Richardson, senior engagement manager, previously worked at the Martin Agency. Richardson received a degree in business administration at East Carolina University.

Holly Sigler, interactive media planner/buyer, was previously with the Martin Agency. She graduated from Hollins University with a degree in business/finance.

Denise Goff, media buyer for broadcast and print, was previously with Lewis Media Partners. Goff also worked at the Martin Agency, WFofR and Barber Martin in Richmond.

Catherine Davis, account coordinator managing the Brand Ambassador program, joined the agency after completing an internship in the marketing department of Elizabeth Arden in New York. She received a marketing degree from High Point University.

Burford Advertising will be doing a website, public relations and an ad campaign for Puppy Bumpers, a Richmond-based pet product company.

Madison+Main presented three new TV concepts to First Bank. They also produced the second in a series of three TV spots for Springdale at Lucy Corr Village and will do a pro-bono rebranding and marketing campaign for the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce.
