Stephen T. Gannon was appointed central Virginia market president of Capital One Financial. Gannon replaced Katherine E. Busser. Gannon graduated in 1974 from Georgetown University and in 1977 from Georgetown University Law Center.
Village Bank announced two new additions to its commercial banking team. Max Morehead has been named executive vice president. Morehead comes to Village Bank most recently from First Citizens Bank.
Jeff Raihall has been named vice president and relationship manager at Village. He was previously managing director at Arbor Associates, Inc.
Essex Bank parent company Community Bankers Trust Corp. appointed Gerald F. Barber to its board of directors. Barber previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and was an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
Xenith Bank made the following announcements:
Kimberly C. Wells joined Xenith as assistant operations manager. Prior to joining Xenith, Wells was at StellarOne Bank as a commercial banking assistant. She went to Ferrum College.
Ramona M. Chadwick joined Xenith as operations manager. Chadwick came from Capital One in Glen Allen where she was a department manager. Prior to that she was with Citibank.
Law
Spotts Fain announced the election of the following three new directors. They are: Edward Everett Bagnell, Jr., director, litigation section; Peter A. Gambardella, director, business section; and Patricia Bugg Turner – director, litigation section.
Industrial
Nancy Taylor, president and CEO of Richmond-based Tredegar Corp., was appointed to the board of Lumber Liquidators. She becomes a director of the Toana, Va.-based lumber retailer effective today. Taylor has been with Tredegar since 1991. She was previously an attorney at Hunton & Williams. Taylor received a B.A. at College of the Holy Cross and a law degree from Catholic University of America.
Nonprofits
Jeanine Harper, executive director for Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), has agreed to work as an executive-on-loan to the Richmond Department of Social Services. Harper will serve as special assistant to David Hicks, who was appointed by Mayor Dwight Jones as interim director in February.
