More than 6,200 square feet, a lighted tennis court, a pool house and eight acres overlooking the Kanawha Club helped a Goochland County estate find a buyer at $1.9 million last month.
The property, at 745 River Road West, was the highest-priced home sold in the Richmond market in August, according to the Central Virginia Regional Multiple Listing Service (CVRMLS).
“It is truly like having your own club,” said Michelle Ferguson, an agent with Long & Foster who represented the sellers. “There’s a lot to do on this estate.”
Ferguson listed the property in May and had it under contract by July. It sold Aug. 15.
Goochland County records show the sellers were Brian and Lisa Midgette, who bought the home in April for $1.84 million. County records have not yet been updated to reflect the change in ownership, and Ferguson declined to identify the buyers.
The home has six bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms and an in-ground pool.
Five other houses – all in Henrico County – also sold in August for more than $1 million, including 13500 N. Gayton Road, an 1857-built home that went for $1.6 million.
The other $1 million-plus homes sold in August were:
• 10 Nomas Lane, $1.207 million
• 12744 Ellington Woods Place, $1.099 million
• 8914 Rearden Road, $1.088 million
• 7 Kanawha Road, $1.05 million
