Nominations open for 2015 Allen & Allen HOMETOWN HEROES

The personal injury law firm of Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen announced today that it is seeking community nominations for its annual Allen & Allen HOMETOWN HEROES award. The award, which was formed in 2010 to honor the firm’s centennial anniversary, recognizes the positive impact of local individuals giving back to their community on a daily basis.

“Doing things for others, no matter the size of the gesture, connects each of us back to a basic human value. We can all perform good deeds and take part in making a difference in the community,” said Trent Kerns, President of Allen & Allen. “The Allen & Allen HOMETOWN HEROES award is our way of honoring Virginians doing good things for others. Our firm was founded on service over a hundred years ago and we draw strength from those giving back to their community, the real heroes.”

Nominations for the 2015 Allen & Allen HOMETOWN HEROES award will be accepted from April 7, 2015 to May 24, 2015. The public is encouraged to visit http://www.allenandallen.com/hometown-heroes/ to complete a short nomination form to recognize, honor, and celebrate heroes throughout the Commonwealth.

“Each year Allen & Allen looks for new ways to celebrate heroes in the communities that we serve – brave first responders, active and involved neighbors, dedicated teachers, disability advocates, small business owners, and anyone that values the act of giving,” said Courtney Allen Van Winkle, Partner.

Allen & Allen has honored over 300 local individuals since the award was created, all of which have represented a unique and inspiring story of giving in some capacity. “This year we’re adding a new component to the HOMETOWN HEROES award that further demonstrates our firm’s commitment to volunteering and celebrating the everyday heroism found in our community,” said Jason W. Konvicka, Partner. “In addition to honoring local individuals, Allen & Allen will be performing our own acts of giving.”

Inspired by the heroes that Allen & Allen has honored over the years, the firm’s attorneys and staff will perform a series of project-based initiatives as it volunteers in the community this year. In Richmond, the firm will volunteer its manpower to support the Boys & Girls Club. In Charlottesville, Allen & Allen will support the Carson Raymond Foundation and in Fredericksburg it will support Habitat for Humanity.

Allen & Allen will announce the 2015 Allen & Allen HOMETOWN HEROES on July 14, 2015 on http://www.allenandallen.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/allen.and.allen. Finalists will be honored at a series of award events taking place in Richmond at a Flying Squirrels game, Fredericksburg at Celebrate Virginia Live, and Charlottesville at Fridays After Five.
