Apple Hospitality REIT (APLE)

Six executives acquired a total of 158,066 shares through the company’s 2015 incentive plan. CEO Justin Knight received 55,217 shares valued at $1,097,161.

The company will hold its annual shareholders meeting May 12 at 11 a.m. at the downtown Marriott. Business to be conducted includes election of two directors, Jon Fosheim and Knight, whose terms expire this year.

The power utility reported that it and Questar Corp. jointly filed merger applications with the Public Service Commission of Utah and the Wyoming Public Service Commission regarding their pending merger. Notice was also given to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.

Dynex Capital (DX)

The mortgage REIT filed its annual report for 2015. Net income to common shareholders totaled $7.36 million, down from $18.63 million in 2014 and $39.81 million in 2011.

The board of directors approved the transition of Thomas Akin from employment with the company as executive chairman to the role of non-executive chairman effective the date of the company’s upcoming annual meeting. Akin will receive an annual chairman fee of $75,000 in addition to an annual board retainer of $55,000 and an annual restricted stock grant valued at $50,000.

Eastern Virginia Bankshares (EVBS)

Director Boris Gutin acquired 53 shares at $6.82 per share. The shares were purchased on behalf of GCP Capital Partners and various related affiliates. GCP is a private equity firm that invested in the bank’s capital raise in 2013.

Tredegar (TG)

The plastic and aluminum parts manufacturer will hold its annual shareholders meeting May 4 at 9 a.m. at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, 1800 Lakeside Ave. Business to be conducted includes election of two directors, John Gottwald and Thomas Snead Jr., whose terms expire this year.

WestRock (WRK)

The packaging giant announced the retirement of Robert Beckler as president, packaging solutions, after 29 years of service. The retirement is effective this July.
