Device for control of difficult to compress hemorrhage

Patent No. 9,931,125

Bleeding from blood vessels located in difficult-to-compress regions of the body (especially the abdomen, pelvic or groin region) is controlled by the use of a portable, small-footprint belt-like device that contains multiple inflatable bladders. The inflatable bladders are selectively positioned and inflated over exsanguinating blood vessels, thereby exerting pressure to stop the bleeding. The device may also be used to provide perfusion support in low flow disease states such as hemorrhagic shock and cardiac arrest.

Seamless oral pouch product

Patent No. 9,930,914

An oral pouch product has no seams or fewer seams than conventional pouch products. The pouch includes a seamless or single seam tube of a hosiery web material. An elastomeric thread is placed inside the tubular enclosure. One end of the tube is sealed and connected to one end of the elastomeric thread. A filling material, in one example including tobacco products or other plant materials, is also placed inside the tubular enclosure. The second end of the tubular enclosure is then fixed and connected to a stretched end of the elastomeric thread. The thread and attached ends of the enclosure are then sheared away and simultaneously released so that the ends of the tube are drawn inside the tubular space of the tubular enclosure.

Intravascular arterial to venous anastomosis and tissue welding catheter

Patent No. 9,931,164

Systems and methods for creating an arteriovenous (AV) fistula comprise an elongate member, a distal member connected to the elongate member and movable relative to the elongate member, and a heating member disposed on at least one of the movable distal member and the elongate member. The distal member comprises structure for capturing tissue to be cut to create the fistula, and the heating member is adapted to cut through the tissue to create the fistula. The elongate member comprises an elongate outer tube. A shaft connects the distal member to the elongate member, and is extendable and retractable to extend and retract the distal member relative to the elongate member.

Personal carrying case for electronic vaping device

Patent No. 9,936,734

A personal carrying case for holding an e-vaping device includes communication interfaces configured to establish communication links with the e-vaping device and a remotely-located computer device. Control circuitry included in the case may control an element of the e-vaping device according to a control command received from the computer device. The control circuitry may control the e-vaping device element via an e-vaping device communication link, and the control circuitry may receive the control command via a computer device communication link. The computer device communication link may be an ad hoc wireless network communication link. The control circuitry may process information received from the e-vaping device to communicate status information and signals to the computer device. Separate e-vaping device elements may be identified and associated with separate accounts, and e-vaping device usage may be tracked in association with said accounts based on the separate identities of elements used during vaping.

Adjustable penetration depth syringe

Patent No. 9,937,299

A syringe is provided with an assembly received on the distal end for adjusting the penetration depth. In embodiments, the assembly includes a collar attached to the syringe hub which moves with respect to the needle between axial positions depending on the desired needle penetration depth. The adjustable penetration depth syringe is useful in the context of self-administered drugs such as insulin, where a longer length needle is needed to fill a syringe from a vial, but a shorter penetration depth is preferred for administering a subcutaneous injection.
