A development project that helped accelerate Scott’s Addition’s office and retail growth took home top honors Tuesday night.
The HandCraft Cleaners building at 1501 Roseneath Road won Project of the Year at the 17th annual Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate awards.
Owned by brothers Jay, Keith and Jeff Nichols, the 90,000-square-foot former dry-cleaning facility has been transformed into a commercial mixed-use development that includes tenants such as Vasen Brewery, Farhenheit Group, Randstad, Hazen & Sawyer, Blueswipe, Fergusson Enterprises, 510 Architects, Smithers and Co. and Stella’s Market.
The evening’s other top honor went to a downtown office deal that filled a large vacancy and is set to bring about 500 jobs to the city’s central business district.
Owens & Minor’s 90,000-square-foot lease on four floors of Riverfront Plaza’s East Tower was named Transaction of the Year. Trib Sutton, Matt Anderson and David Wilkins, brokers with CBRE | Richmond, took home the hardware for that transaction.
The GRACRE ceremony, held at the Country Club of Virginia, recognized 23 projects and transactions. It was hosted by Cheryl Shanahan, EDC business development manager.
