A local real estate brokerage is expanding in the West End and giving its original home an open-office makeover.
Neumann + Dunn is preparing to open a new office, its second, at 11535 Nuckols Road in early November. It will add to the firm’s existing outpost at 2044 John Rolfe Place, which recently was redesigned.
The firm’s staff is at 35 and growing. Co-founder Kevin Allocca said the firm, which handles commercial and residential properties, has doubled its headcount in the last few years. Allocca and Patrick Sanderson founded the company in 2006, naming it as a tribute to their grandfathers.
The new office space is about 1,400 square feet and will serve the company’s growing pool of agents.
As for revamping its John Rolfe Place site, Allocca said the work was done to give agents a more comfortable and welcoming space to meet with clients.
“You can just see when somebody walks in and they see that space, their sort of anxiety level comes down because it’s not that we’re trying to be informal, but it’s not stuffy. It’s relaxed,” Allocca said.
They changed the space to have a more open layout, a café-style table and big-screen TV.
Allocca said he oversaw the renovations, consulting with Division9Design space planners, Kitchens 21, Natural Stone Works, E.A Holsten and Brewer Communications.
Handcrafted by Harding, which Phoebe Harding Bottrell operates, made the large table in the John Rolfe Place office space. She has been a client of Neumann+ Dunn.
Allocca said Neumann + Dunn is considering another location near Libbie and Grove, but there are no further plans for it right now.
