Chesterfield
Supervisors meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. Public hearing items include a request by C&R Realty LP to rezone 101.5 acres fronting Lake Chesdin Parkway south of Ivey Mill Road for residential development.

Goochland
Moody’s Investors Service assigned the county its highest credit rating, making Goochland the smallest county by population in the U.S. to be rated AAA by the agency. According to a release, no other county with a population under 75,000 is designated Aaa. Goochland’s population is 23,000.

Hanover
Supervisors meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. Public hearing items include a request by Lewistown Commerce Center LLC to rezone 9 acres on Lakeridge Parkway south of Lewistown Road for a 1.15-acre office building and 85 townhomes.

Henrico
Dan Schmitt, president of RMC Events, was sworn in Friday as Brookland District supervisor after defeating Danny Plaugher in last Tuesday’s elections. He replaces Courtney Lynch, who resigned from the board in June.

Supervisors meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. Public hearing items include the following rezoning requests:

    • Viking Land Development LLC to rezone 17.85 acres fronting Willson Road south of Messer Road for residential development.
    • Luis Cabral to rezone .85 of an acre at Woodman and Hungary roads for a drive-thru restaurant
    • Quality of Life of VA LLC to rezone 11.7 acres at Darbytown Road and Oregon Avenue for detached zero-lot-line dwellings.
    • Marie Hammer to rezone nearly 4 acres on Staples Mill Road for a medical office with accessory dwelling.

The board is also set to award a $4.8 million construction contract to Richmond-based Virtexco Corp. for a renovation of Henrico Circuit Court and a $3.2 million contract to Suffolk-based Tidewater Utility Construction for a sewer rehab project.

Richmond

City Council meets Tuesday due to the Veterans Day holiday on Monday.

Business on the agenda for the 6 p.m. meeting includes:

    • An amendment establishing a History and Culture Commission to advise the mayor and the planning and development review department on preservation and interpretive signage issues, including the recommendations of the Monument Avenue Commission regarding the city’s Confederate statues.
    • Adding business taxes (including admissions, lodging, meals, business, profession and occupation license taxes) to the list of those that, if not paid in 30 days, could trigger the city to seize a business’s goods, money, bank notes and property other than real estate to obtain payment of money owed. The list already includes real estate and personal property taxes.
    • A special-use request to allow Dogtown Brewing Co. to operate at 1209 Hull St.
    • A special-use request to allow the Tang & Biscuit shuffleboard club at 3406 W. Moore St. in Scott’s Addition to operate as a nightclub and add signage via a mural.
    • A special-use request for Loughridge & Co.’s proposed 224-unit apartment complex at 2009 Brook Road near Virginia Union University.
    • A policy that would require any residential development involving city-owned property, city funds or tax credits or exemptions to reserve a minimum of 15 percent of the residential units for income-based housing.
