The EDA board meets Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Business includes a closed session to discuss a prospective or expanding business or industry as permitted by state law. Agenda here.

Hanover
The planning commission meets Thursday at 7 p.m. Business includes a rezoning and comprehensive plan amendment requests from Northlake Land Investments LLC to permit speculative industrial uses on 31 acres along the east side of U.S. Route 1 south of North Lakeridge Parkway. Full agenda here.

Henrico
Supervisors elected Tyrone Nelson as chairman and Thomas Branin as vice chairman for 2019. Nelson, who is in his second term representing the Varina District, previously served as chairman in 2016 and vice chairman last year. Branin is in his first term representing the Three Chopt District.

Richmond
Council meets in regular session Monday at 6 p.m. Items on the consent agenda include a request for legislation to establish a new “affordable housing” division within the state’s new Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.

Business on the regular agenda includes a community unit plan amendment to accommodate Dominion Diversified Real Estate Group’s proposed 59-unit townhome development on Forest Hill Avenue behind Stony Point Shopping Center. A special use request for Loughridge & Company’s proposed 224-unit apartment complex on Brook Road near Virginia Union University is being continued to Feb. 11, as is councilmember Kim Gray’s proposal to rename the Boulevard between Brookland Parkway/Westwood Avenue and Byrd Park as “Arthur Ashe Boulevard.” Full agenda here.
